Whenever possible, we consider the impact of our work on local biodiversity. This informs how and when we carry out jobs — from the timing of cuts to the extent of clearances. As environmentally conscious gardeners, we do not use glyphosate-based weed killers, we avoid hedge and shrub cutting during bird nesting season, refrain from cutting plants in full flower, and we never dig over soil unnecessarily.

Bevan Butterworth
Bevan’s journey into professional horticulture began after stumbling upon the vocation of landscape architecture. Following this discovery he went on to gain a Honarary degree in landscape architecture and design. Here he learned all about the design principles of outdoor spaces and and an understanding of the significance of these spaces on people’s wellbeing.
Rather than heading straight into office based design roles Bevan opted to initially follow his passion for plants and the outdoors by first working in gardens as a maintenance gardener and assistant to planting designers carrying out many planting schemes across Harrogate and North Yorkshire.
After a short while Bevan lead a small team of maintenance gardeners working on high-end properties around Harrogate and became more involved in the design process of the planting schemes.
Now self-employed he enjoys the trust of his own clients to allow him to move and remove existing plants to maximise visual aesthetics of the space and even full redesigns of areas with contemporary planting design.
